Thinking about how my mother could have her games in the den, her art supplies in the spare room, her electronics and books in the office, and so forth, but I was expected to keep *all* of my stuff in my own room.

And then she got mad and punished me because my room (which was a third the size of hers) was so messy compared to her eerily empty one.
