When I was eight or so years old, I saw a cartoon about Baron Munchhausen (or someone similar) in which he pulled himself out of quicksand by, I kid you not, pulling on his bootlaces.

"That's REALLY unrealistic!" I announced.

So apparently, eight-year-old me had a better understanding of stuff than a lot of politicians.
