I mean we're not at risk of it right now, but...

Reading up on divorce and child custody laws in my state makes me never, ever want to get a divorce.

We have one of those, thankfully. But in the US you can't put anything about custody and child support in there.

Don't worry, it's fine. I talked about this with a lot of people and a shocking number of them didn't.

Actual conversation:
Coworker: (complaining about how her husband is making no money so she's paying the mortgage; her other comments made it clear that he was also abusive)
Me: "Get a divorce, your prenup should have handled this case."
Coworker: "I didn't get a prenup because I thought that he would be supporting me and it would be in my best interests not to get one!"
Me: "..."
