It's utterly amazing how quickly the US went from "[my people] are dirty [ethnic slur] out to destroy America" to "they are totally white and we <3 that so many of them are crossing the ocean to be here" when they realized they could aim us at the Black and Latine people.

Not that my people needed a lot of aiming. We're so fucking racist, folks.

God I fuckin feel you on this. I am sometimes amazed by the racism of Italians given that my grandmother was non-white within her own lifetime.
