I always find it disappointing when a video game speedrun relies on a glitch to go straight through the floor and skip half the game.
I'm even more disappointed when I look up "glitch free speedrun" and it... still uses a glitch to skip stuff.

Fast is fast, after all :'DD but I can sympathise with the frustration, I only really enjoy the 100% categories of certain games b/c how hard a glitch is to execute can be quite abstract, whereas I know exactly how hard it is to go fast in a game like Hollow Knight or Wind Waker, and can make an educated guess for certain other games.

That's a pretty common complaint, since "going fast" and "glitchless" don't exactly go together and figuring out what even counts as a glitch is done on a game-by-game basis. Some games (a lot of RPGs for example, Pokémon games most notably) basically don't have an any% category anymore b/c glitching to the end just isn't as interesting as figuring out how to brave the random number generator.
