My sixth grade English teacher made derogatory comments about how some of her students used the "use your fingers to spell bed" trick to distinguish lowercase b/d.

It just popped into my head twenty years after the fact, and I had some thoughts:
  1. "That would've been useful, except I had no clue I even had issues with letters."
  2. "Sounds like those students had a good grip on this language issue and a really simple solution."
  3. "Wait, a twelve-year-old still struggling with letters needs a dyslexia screening, why didn't she recommend them for screening?!"
Anyway my teachers were ableist garbage, more at ten.
