Lödwyn was scarier with the mask on, honestly.

With the mask, she's a Malevolent Masked Woman. Glowing red eyes, the only thing you see under a mask she wears at all times. The mask is a sign of her devotion to Woedica, and who knows what the patterns mean.

Without the mask, she's a skeleton. Whoop de do. You fight a dozen of those a day.

We had people over for dinner and I made loads of sourdough, thinking I'd give a bunch of it away.

Nope! Our freezer is full of sourdough now.

Searched "vegetarian restaurant in [the hip liberal neighborhood I work in]".

The results: a restaurant (named after a meat dish) that happens to have a couple of vegetarian options, a fast food place that thinks "plant based" means you have two vegetables on your meat, and a vegan place that specializes in $20 smoothies.

I'm going to suggest the last one for our next team event, because for shit's sake I'm sick of having a maximum of two food choices at these things, but... what the fuck.

An online retailer offered me a discount if I subscribed to their emails, so I did, with the idea that the first time they sent me something I'd promptly unsubscribe.

They sent me an email saying "are you sure you want to subscribe to this mailing list?"

I've never met such a polite subscription before.

For the last few weeks, I have been convicing everyone I know who's in USDA growing zone 7 or warmer (which is almost everyone I know because that's where I live) to grow bananas.

No takers so far.

We use a small bookshelf as a pantry, and to easily sort things I got a large number of nice clear containers.

This has led to the existence of a game called Grain Tetris: shuffling beans, nuts, rice, pasta, and so forth between containers in an attempt to have everything in a perfectly sized place.

Like real Tetris, it is a game one can never win, and also like real Tetris, it is weirdly satisfying.
