Anecdotally, I've seen a number of trans/nonbinary people pick new names that sound a generation younger than they are.

But has anyone done a study on it?

Article (from early 2000's): "I always read the obituaries, and every day I see one for someone named Ethel or Myrtle. Why did parents choose such unpopular names for their children in the 20's and 30's? They must have wanted their children to grow up to be tough, not like today's parents who give popular names like Jennifer!"

I guess "critical thinking" is not a requirement for being published in a newspaper.
Somewhere out on the internet is a picture of fourteen-year-old me, running through some ancient Greek ruins wearing socks, sandals, plaid cargo shorts, a thick belt, and a red polo shirt.

I guess I hit peak dad over a decade before I had any kids.
Many years ago - I mean in like 1999 or so - I read a newspaper article in which a person who freely admitted to owning six homes, several of which were under adjustable-rate mortgages, tried to give people financial advice.
