I have discovered that there is Siri/Alexa fanfiction, and you know what, it's awesome.

Fun fact: I had so little interaction with any form of Christianity as a kid that I didn't realize what a "godparent" was.

So when I read fairy tales that talked about "fairy godmothers" I just assumed that a godmother was a fancy, powerful type of fairy.

Shocking, isn't it, that when my primary exposure to my culture was no longer a pair of people who kept nitpicking my grammar and telling me I was too Americanized to call myself [ethnicity], I suddenly picked up a bunch of books in the language and started interacting with others from the same homeland?

Almost like I'm some sort of organic machine with four and a half billion years of evolutionary history programming me to avoid things that make me feel bad, y'know?

Apparently my language processing center has room for about 1.8 languages, so as I regain my native language, my English is getting worse.

This seems like a pretty big design flaw.
