Someone explained "this is a reference to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, a 2005 movie" and as someone old enough to have read the books as they came out (not that I remember anything about them, mind you...) I flinched a little.

One thing I find particularly amusing about Chess (the musical and the movie) is that you could make it about soccer or baking or any other number of things that aren't chess and the plot could stay the same.
