Sometimes science is wowing your team with data beyond their wildest dreams.

Sometimes it's glaring at your machinery and yelling "WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS YOU FUCKER" when it once again spits out "2% recovery, fail".

I work and hang out with a LOT of scientists and engineers, and I swear, some of these folks forget that people work in other fields too.

The default assumption among many of my acquaintances is that OF COURSE everyone has a college degree, and OF COURSE everyone has a strong background in STEM, and OF COURSE everyone works with machines and code 9-5ish.

Absolutely mind-blowing.

I know several people who are all like "hell yeah, public transportation is great" and then when you point out that they could take public transportation instead of driving to work every day go all "but it's inconvenient :(".

"Everyone but me should use public transport more" is a shitty political stance.
