My perfectly baked take is that "should people stop doing this" is a separate question from "should it be illegal to do it".
I hate it when I know a word in my native language, and I know it in English, but I don't realize they mean the same thing.
The reason I find it weird that people like the rain is because for me, "enjoying nature" means "go outside into nature" whereas for other people, "enjoying nature" includes "look at/listen to the nature from inside a building".
Probably also why other people listen to nature tracks as music, and I find it to be deeply unpleasant.

Working in bio be like "you know that indisputable fact you learned in high school? Here's a huge body of evidence disputing it from the last eight months."

Linguistic prescriptivism annoys me.
The point of language is to communicate. Everything else is frills: nice to have sometimes, but not... actually... necessary.
I'm very happy for everyone who has the privilege of a good education and no brain or body problems that interfere with speech, but seriously... don't these people have anything ELSE to do with their good luck than snap at the rest of us who can't or won't conform to their extensive rules.
