My siblings and I are all allergic to shellfish. Middle Sibling and I manifested it the same way: early in life it caused mild gastrointestinal problems, which over the course of decades progressed toward anaphylactic shock.
Oldest sibling was fine for the first thirty years, and then suddenly developed a pretty serious reaction to it. While it's the same allergy (they're also allergic to bugs and snails and stuff, just like us), I wonder if it was caused by the same thing because of how different it is.
