When I was in kindergarten, a classmate of mine cut the tip of his finger off to see if it would hurt (it did, based on his screaming) and was immediately rushed to the nurse.

He came back about an hour later with a huge bandage on his finger: the nurse put it back on and tightly wound it up, because fingertips just... reglue themselves back on if you do that. I found that so weird.

The other day I accidentally sliced the tip of my thumb off while cooking. Same deal: stuck it back on, tied some gauze around it, went on with my day. It's a mess and still stings a bit, but the tip is like... on and doing its job.

This is just so weird and gross, everybody. It's better than missing a good chunk of my thumb, but... it's kind of upsetting that my body can do this? IDK.
