Shoutout to the person who made me drive fifty minutes each way for a five-minute (!!!) interview that could've been a phone screen!
(Side note: in my profession, it's common for interviewers to have job candidates do some basic tasks around the lab, because anyone can write down "expert hrapplemungler" on their resume, but demonstrating good hrapplemungler technique is harder to fake. Which is why I didn't bat an eye when the interviewer insisted I come in.)
