Aieeeeeeee, yikes x10000000000. Like that is horrible on so many levels and probably my mother would be telling me the same thing if I was still in touch with her! (Couched in "but of COURSE this is bad for all those other people, buuuuuuut" language.)
At the moment I'm problem-solving (and putting every possible solution, even ridiculous ones like "somehow move us into the apartment I technically own 1/3 own in my home country" and "guilt trip my parents into signing over a half million dollar check for a house" down). I'll probably have the epic freak-out about 48-240 hours from now, once a lawyer and a plan have materialized.
...isn't it convenient that my partner and I have different freaking out timetables?
