An interesting thing about being a reader/writer/artist is that a lot of people who don't know you very well but want to give you gifts will give you journals.

Typically hideous journals that you would never have touched on your own, but hey, YMMV.

I have like seven of the things, and I'm trying to fill them out with random scribblings and doodlings just to be done with them.

i have like twenty journals and most of them are two small to actually draw in

These are like the ones that you can fit maybe two sentences in, if your handwriting is small (mine is not)? And they're only like twenty pages? ...and for some reason they only come in "weird organic that your pen scratches badly" and "super feminine with catty comments on the cover"?

oh that's almost worse? at least mine are just like. normal looking journals? at least i think. most of them are in a box under my bed and i haven't looked at them in like a year.

...your gift givers have sightly better taste, then. All the ones I have are either made of post-consumer recycled organic paper that feels bad to write on, glittery with things like "live laugh love" on the front, or monogrammed with my deadname (this last one was entirely my mother).

I've been using them to do handwriting exercises and doodle stick figures. This way I can finally dump the mild guilt I have about "wasting" them.
