In order to be part of the richest 10% three and a half years ago you needed US$93K.

Even adjusting for inflation and the pandemic, that probably hasn't gone up that much.

So if you have $70K in the bank, a $10K car, and then $15-20K of stuff (IDK how much stuff costs used, let's say you have some collectibles or heirlooms or electronics) you're in the richest ten percent of the world.

And then if you get cancer, lose your job, and get kicked out of your rental, you can still end up houseless.

Like can we talk about how utterly messed up it is that you can be THAT relatively wealthy and STILL end up starving to death under a bridge?
