"You're allowed to exist, but only if you feel enough shame for your existence and you cede your space and your autonomy to everyone else and you debase yourself so that we can tell you're one of the good ones" is not a kind, loving, supportive, or acceptable way to treat someone, and I'm disgusted that so many leftists who grew up in abusive homes where shame was weilded like a bludgeon think it's a reasonable party line.

I was thinking of the treatment of men in the queer community, especially trans men and Men of Color, when writing this, but I bet y'all thought of at least a few other identities it applies to.
