"It's so wholesome!"
It has scenes of two of the main characters creating mountains of corpses (literally in one case), a woman and child finding their husband/father's mangled body in the aftermath of an explosion, a kid and a dog both being tortured, gruesome scenes of war, and more.
How did "wholesome" become solely about relationships?

Progression Mode 2 involves antis picking out more niche media (in my experience 99% of the time this is a gacha game fandom, but this could just be because I'm IN a lot of those fandoms) and sticking there like glue. They will set up camp, and they will not move from their spot. If they find a shiny new fandom, they will add it to the List Of Things They're Into and not move fandoms whole-shop. I've noticed that antis who stick to Progression Mode 2 tend to be much more likely to be into MOGAI stuff and microlabels (though not necessarily full inclusionists, they still hate mspec lesbians/gays), as well as being much more likely to spout off fucking bizarre discourse talking points with little connection with reality (THE COOKIES ARE UNDERAGE, the yandere trope is ableist against people with bpd)
Remember how SU was praised wildly as Teh Bestest And Most Progressivest Show (that you should be watching instead of whatever you're into) by people on Tumblr before the "SU critical" crowd really took over and it wound up on everyone's DNIs? Yeah, that kind of hard-and-fast turn doesn't really happen all that much in weeb fandom.
