I FEEL THIS I had no idea wolf eyes qualified b/c that means me and my sister and brother all technically have heterochromia.
Granted, I only have a thin ring, which might be different than having the actual iris be a different colour but I've never found anything that clarifies what the rings in the iris are.
I'm fancy, I have several rings: there's a thin dark grey one outside, then a light grey/blue, then a green, then light yellow, and then hazel in the very middle around the pupil. One of my siblings has something similar, the other has partial heterochromia (where each eye is green with splotches of brown).
I don't make eye contact with people very often, so I just assumed, on the basis of me, my siblings, and a couple of friends that that's just how non-black/brown eyes were. But today I was looking up eye colors on a whim and was like. WTF. These people all have solid colored eyes?!
No, my ring is an orange-yellow one around the pupil. It used to be very yellow, making my eyes look very blue, but they've grayed out and the rings have gotten noticeably brown in pigmentation. You know how the iris forms a kind of ridge near the pupil? That's the part that's a different colour.
