I'm hearing straight people (yes, I can tell they're straight based on the way they're talking about queers) talking about going to Pride the way my mother talks about going to the zoo or aquarium.

And Respectability Crusader Queers would rather have these people at our marches than someone in a pup mask?

Honestly?

Hate is addictive. The feeling of righteous anger you get when you hate a person or group, the smug satisfaction when bad things happen to them, the way you can build entire communities focused on hating a certain thing... it's intoxicating, how good it feels.

And it's *easy*. Dunking on a hated person or thing is easier than investing the time into something or someone you love. If someone has abused you for having positive emotions, it's even easier to get into the holding pattern of hate, hate, hate.

You won't even notice the point at which you choose to stew in your hatred rather than investing in love.

I certainly didn't.

Okay but what IS it with straight people openly talking about queer people like an alien species while ignoring that I, an anthropomorphic sparkly rainbow glitter bomb of a trannydyke, am sitting RIGHT THERE and can answer their questions if they'd just ask?

I'm not entirely sure what kind of benefit I (a survivor of multiple suicide attempts) am supposed to be getting when people censor it to s*****e or whatever, but I am definitely not getting it.
