I belatedly realized that the reason my father took up jogging all of a sudden - and was obsessed with jogging long distances from the start - is because my sibling married a competitive cross country runner and my father CANNOT let anyone, and least of all his child-in-law, be better than him at ANYTHING.
You know what's cool?
When you see someone singing and they have their eyes closed and they're moving around with the music and they're clearly just enjoying themselves.

What if... I bought myself a sewing book and learned to PROPERLY fucking sew instead of the poorly-taught*, self-learned nonsense I do?
