Like, "a really big body of water", obviously, but HOW big? Is it some portion of the planet's surface area? Some volume? XYZ square kilometers? How big?!

The game known as Russian roulette in English is known as hussar's roulette in Russian, because it was associated with bored rich dudes.

The position known as the Slav squat in English is called the gopnik squat in Russian (gopnik being a slang term for a delinquent) because it's associated with poor, often criminalized young guys.
