I know I was an outlier, but honestly... not by that much.
I couldn't choose what to eat or when.
I couldn't choose when to go to sleep.
I couldn't choose how to arrange the furniture in my room, or how to keep my stuff clean.
I could technically choose my classes, to an extent, but since a parent and a counselor had to sign off on the sheet, I was pressured into taking the most advanced ones possible, and my only option boiled down to whether I wanted to take AP Psychology or AP French Lit.
I certainly couldn't choose whether I wanted to go to the doctor to get my back pain checked out, or to take medications that might keep my brain problems under some semblance of control.
