"Chimpanzees are HERBIVORES so humans should be too" says person who clearly doesn't know that both regular chimpanzees and the bonobo (the latter being our closest relative) are very much omnivorous and will even eat other primates.

So if you want to go with the Appeal To Nature, you should be suggesting a diet composed of actual tree leaves* and also cannibalism** in addition to fruit.

*humans can't digest leaves, something something useless appendix or whatever, you all are familiar with The Googles

In all fairness to other folks though, learning that deer eat birds fucked me up. I found out because I watched a video of a deer eating a bird.

Deer aren't doe-eyed babs, though. They animals. Animals eat animals.
