Ukraine has (or had, I've lost touch with the friend for whom it was relevant and it bums me out to look it up) a law that you can medically transition... but your "opposite"-sex spouse and you have to divorce, because same-sex marriage is still illegal.
I would looooooove to be a fly on the wall when someone told the "cis people can't date nonbinary people because it's inherently fetishization" crowd about this law. Would they go with "those barbaric Ukrainians don't let trans people live their lives" or with "good for them, poor delicate trans people need to be protected from the abusive cis"?
