I hate that so many fans just completely refuse to use even an ounce of critical thinking on media these days.

"Character A says they love Character B, but they treat B so poorly, the author is promoting abuse" no the author wanted to show a dysfunctional character with dysfunctional ideas about relationships and trusted that you were smart enough to figure that out.

Good grief, these people will have a collective aneurysm if they ever read Lolita.

"We want more representation for the queer community, but only the good kind of representation about perfect queer people who never experience bad things or have negative emotions, and only from totally unproblematic creators who have been out as queer since they were blastocysts, and the work itself has to be edited and published only by queer professionals because I won't buy anything from a problematic retailer, and I'm not going to leave good reviews on self-published queer fiction because it's being promoted on Amazon and Goodreads and those are too problematic... why isn't there more queer representation in fiction? :("

Cannot WAIT for someone to come screaming into my inbox as to the fact that my grandparents' ill-fated marriage was Bad and Wrong not because my grandfather beat my grandma and their kids but because they were an ~interracial couple~ with an ~eight year age gap~ and clearly neither of them could consent to such a thing.

I should not be surprised that, apparently, if someone's kid snoops through your bedside drawers or internet search history behind your back and finds adult material, you are "basically grooming a child by exposing them to porn" according to antis, and yet...

Prediction: the "interracial ships are bad and racist" people will soon, if they haven't already (they probably already have) expand that to "you can't have mixed characters because that means there was a dirty mixed marriage somewhere in the past even if you don't show it".

I 150% expect someone to call my dirty quarter-blood (mostly white, to make things worse, so racist /s) ass inherently disgusting soon.

If I was an anti, I would be currently campaigning very hard to remove several innocuous words/phrases from the English language because they are part of my trauma.

I'm not talking slurs or insults here, I mean perfectly normal terms that get used on a regular basis.
