It's like the "you're not a body, you are a brain that HAS a body" thing that I've seen (mercifully only a couple of times) that tries to argue that "me" can be easily quantified and sliced away from the rest of the "not me" that it's connected to.
As if "me" is some isolated thing and not a combination of physical, mental, and historical STUFF that merges into each other.
