My parents were so ~worried~ about the possibility of me getting fat. They were particularly obsessed with me potentially growing a double chin.

Honestly, they should have been worried about me growing breasts and not fitting into my shirts properly.

You know how men's pant sizes ostensibly just use the circumference of your waist as the first number?

Nope! The tape measure tells me I am 5-7 inches wider than my pants size.

Four years ago, when I went to a psychiatrist and said I needed an antipsychotic, the woman I went to said "I'm going to prescribe this one, because it causes the least weight gain".

Luckily, it worked.

But, still! I was dangerously underweight - and I'm sure she could see that, I wasn't exactly tying pillows to my stomach before appointments - and my potential weight gain was more of a concern than the safety or effectiveness of the drug.
Out of perverse curiosity, I punched my details into a "calorie calculator" and it told me that to maintain my current weight, I need to eat 2025 calories per day, and to lose weight I need to cut down to 1037.

This shit is going to get people killed.
Whenever I look at pictures of people considered "plus sized" I always think... they're not really all that much bigger than me? Maybe ten or so pounds heavier, an extra couple of inches around the waist?

And I don't know if it's a "society is so obsessed with fat being terrible that plus size is ridiculously defined" problem or a "I've been forcing myself into size 0-2 (women's)/27" waist (men's) pants even though I don't fit" problem or a "I just can't tell people's weight worth a crap" problem.
It drives me up the wall - because I was the product of two such people - when someone decides to have kids without considering that, no matter what identities they have, their kids might end up queer or fat or disabled.

"Abuse my kid in the hopes that they'll spontaneously stop being the thing" is not a solution!
Okay, if you're going to claim that someone was being racist and sexist... and not provide any examples of what they actually said or did... and then, in the next post, call someone an "old fathead"... you're coming across as more bigoted than the person you're accusing.

"Oh, this is an interesting article about the fuckening presi- oh, they're making fun of him for being fat. Fucking hell."
I live just outside, like, the third biggest city in the goddamn country, what do you fucking mean you can't find me a fucking trans-friendly doctor that can poke at my goddamn knees and tell me that I need to lose weight or some such bullshit?
Here's an example of sizeism in action for you: my mother refuses to believe that she gained weight. So when her pant size went up after each pregnancy (which is, you know, totally normal, pregnancy does all sorts of wacky things to your hormone balance), she convinced herself that her pelvic bone got wider.
(For context, I'm 5'6 and weighed maybe 110 lbs at the time.)

My college dorm had this thing where people would get dressed up all fancy and drink heavily. Before one of these episodes of great college debauchery, I had a friend snap a picture of me in my formal wear, with my hair actually hairsprayed into a very nice style (normally my hair just sticks straight up). I liked it so much that I set it as my Skype profile picture.

Not even a week later, I get a very long email from my paternal grandmother explaining, in great detail, that the picture makes me look fat and that I need to change it immediately.
