Unfortunately Not a Real Pony

Some people have perpetual stews. Me, I have perpetual broth.

Save the pasta water and use it as a base for boiling beans the next day. Save the bean pot liquor to cook lentils later in the week. Save the lentil broth to make pozole.

Eventually the whole thing ends up in soup or risotto, but man, does it collect flavor along the way.

Revelation: you can cook fruit and put it into dinner.

I bought a bunch of dill, and now every time I open my fridge I get a faceful of childhood nostalgia aroma.

I dumped a bunch of vegetable scraps into a pot to make stock, and before I even started boiling them, it smelled good.

(clears throat) I like vegetables.

This fennel and bean soup is going to be either amazing or terrible. Stay tuned.
