I ordered myself the Kitty Norville series and saw that several sellers listed it as "horror" (alongside the "paranormal romance" that I associate it with) and I had thoughts.

Namely about how Steven King books and movies like Saw and Scream dominate the horror genre, so less... I guess viscerally gory is the word I'm looking for here... stuff just doesn't register as horror to me.

Also worth nothing that Kitty Norville was written by a woman and has a female protagonist and also romance elements. Food for my thoughts.
