Ukraine has (or had, I've lost touch with the friend for whom it was relevant and it bums me out to look it up) a law that you can medically transition... but your "opposite"-sex spouse and you have to divorce, because same-sex marriage is still illegal.

I would looooooove to be a fly on the wall when someone told the "cis people can't date nonbinary people because it's inherently fetishization" crowd about this law. Would they go with "those barbaric Ukrainians don't let trans people live their lives" or with "good for them, poor delicate trans people need to be protected from the abusive cis"?

While packing up the bookcase, I found a "How to Dress for Work" manual, still in its shrinkwrapping.

My sibling presented (pun intended) it as a birthday gift shortly after I graduated college. In reality, we both knew it was a dig against my unprofessional* attire and an attempt to mold me into my sibling's image.

*Slacks and button-ups = unprofessional, at least, when the slacks are $10 from Kohl's rather than some sort of identical-looking $100 ones from Lord and Taylor and the button-ups are brightly colored instead of shades of black/grey/white that "complement" my skin.**

**For the record, when I showed up to my first workplace in those cheap slacks and a bright blue button-up, I was told "by the way, you don't have to dress so fancy, we all generally wear jeans and t-shirts here".

Another one of my family heirlooms is a vodka carafe and set of shot glasses that - I shit you not - I didn't realize had anything to do with alcohol until I was 24 and looked up "fancy fox pitcher" and found someone selling the exact same thing under the label "vodka set".

I thought that drinking juice out of delicate drinkware on holidays was a thing all families did. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
