Unfortunately Not a Real Pony

Curiously, my frenzied crocheting has given me an RSI in my right wrist.

My affectionate cat: AFFECTION! GIVE ME AFFECTION NOW!

Me: Okay, if I'm going to be cat furniture for half an hour, I might as well get some crochet done.

My anxious cat who hates everyone: Yarn? Is this... TOY? (clambers on my lap to get yarn, crowding out his affectionate brother in the process)

After learning Tunisian crochet, I decided to see what "Tunisian knitting" (knitting where each stitch gets cast off immediately so you only have one active stitch at a time, a la crochet) is like.

I'm doing a basic stockinette. The back side looks like normal, if slightly uneven, stockinette. The face looks like an unholy cross between crochet and nålbinding.

Update: I just realized that topologically, I'm doing slip stitch crochet but with two knitting needles! This is probably how crochet was invented!

People: Knitting is more expensive, because you get into circulars and double pointed needles and you spend so much on tools!

Me: (desperately hiding listings for Tunisian crochet and double ended hooks from my search history) Haha. Yeah. Knitting sure does have a lot of tools!

I can circular knit now!

Someday this will be easy, you have to be bad at something first if you want to get good at it, skills aren't built in a day - me through gritted teeth as I once again fail to make a clove hitch knot.

Achievement unlocked: freehand crocheted an orb.

Brain: HERR MANNELIG, HERR MANNELIG, WILL YOU MARRY ME, I WILL MAKE YOU A FINE SHIRT MADE NOT WITH NEEDLE BUT WITH A HOOK!

Sorry to all the metalheads who are going to see nålbinding tutorial videos in their recommendations because of me.

My cats have decided that of course a ball of yarn is a toy! Why else would the human have one if not to play with?

One of them even tried to chew on my knitting needle.
